CHSI Technologies, a new division of CHSI, is focused on the company’s patent-pending software solutions application Connections Management System. The Connections Management System is the insurance industry’s only technology built specifically for the self-insurance market. In today’s environment, policy administrators, risk management, underwriters, claims managers, and employers all need efficient, cutting edge technology to address workflow inefficiencies. Real-time access to claims information, medical provider instructions, and underwriting guidelines are essential for smarter and more cost-effective operations. The Connections Management System is a web-based software solution that provides complete policy administration functionality built specifically for self insurance programs, such as self insured groups and companies, captives, and public entities. The Connections Management System is a highly configurative, easily customizable web-based application that can be securely accessed anywhere the customer has an internet connection and a web browser. CHSI Technologies understands the complexities of building and operating self insurance programs and the needs of the alternative risk transfer (ART) industry. The company has applied its years of experience in these fields towards developing a software solution that both supports and enhances the capabilities of risk management, policy administrators, vendors and insured’s.

Connections, originally known as CHSI.net, began to take shape at the beginning of 2004 as a customer relationship management (CRM) system.  Connections made it simple for CHSI employees to find, edit and add information particular to the members of its self insured groups.  As the system continued to grow and gain popularity within CHSI, other modules were added to it.  Soon, underwriting, billing and audit process were added, and it became the Connections Management System. A key strength of Connections is its ability to integrate with claims management systems.  This integration allows the Connections Management System to send and receive claims related data and use it to develop loss reports that contain policy and financial data.  Connections Management System has continued to evolve as a CRM, as well and now contains a powerful diary system, task and calendar management and the ability to store data files.

Concurrent to the development of Connections Management System was ClientConnect.  ClientConnect is a secure web portal that provides policy, claims, billing and other information for insured’s, brokers and vendors.  For many risk managers and policy administrators, ClientConnect provides them with the look and feel of a mature insurance company.

Connections Management System was originally developed in ASP.net utilizing the 1.1 .Net framework with Microsoft Visual Studio and connected to a Microsoft SQL 2003 database.  This means that Connections has always been a web based application and not simply a legacy system that was made to operate through the web.  Through continual development and improvement, Connections now runs on the 3.5 .Net framework and has a Microsoft SQL 2008 database on the back end.  Microsoft Silver Light 3.0 is also being used to enhance the look and feel of Connections where applicable.  

Today, CHSI Technologies’ products, Connections Management System, Evaluate, and MetaVision WarBoard, are being used in California, Nevada, Oregon, and Florida. The company is strategically positioned for continued growth with the same spirit and passion which began in 1996.  The name was chosen to communicate the company's passion, spirit, and values for which it stands: commitment, honesty, service, innovation.
